ASTM F837 is a Standard Specification for Stainless Steel Socket Head Cap Screws

ASTM F837 specification covers stainless steel metric socket head cap screws (SHCS) intended for use in applications requiring general corrosion resistance. Two groups of stainless steel alloys are covered, austenitic Grade A1 and martensitic Grade C1. Four property classes are covered: austenitic A1-50 in an annealed condition; austenitic A1-55 in a cold worked condition; austenitic A1-70 in a cold worked condition, and martensitic C1-110 in a heat treated condition. Materials shall be tested and the individual grades shall conform to forging; threads; heat treatment; chemical composition; mechanical properties such as thread diameter, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, core hardness (Vickers and Rockwell); and corrosion resistance values.
