Inconel 825 applications are many and these include its use in offshore oil and gas production, pickling-tank heaters, air-cooled heat exchangers, phosphoric acid evaporators, sour gas components, copper refining equipment, fuel reprocessing, tanks, chemical process equipment, waste handling, pickling hooks and equipment, piping systems, propeller shafts, fuel element dissolvers, injection well piping systems, element recovery of spent nuclear fuels, ore processing, waste disposal, food process equipment, heating coils, tank trucks, petroleum refining, chemical processing equipment, air pollution control, seawater heat exchangers, etc.
Inconel 825 is an alloy of molybdenum, iron, chromium and nickel. Inconel 825 has superb corrosion resistance to sea water, phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid. Similar specifications to Inconel 825 are DIN 17744, ASME SB 366 and ASTM B366. Inconel 825 can easily be welded by using processes like resistance welding process, gas shielded arc process and shielded metal-arc process. No postweld heat treatment is required for Inconel 825.
