T23 Alloy Steel Tube (Grade T/P23) is a ferritic/bainitic-martensitic (2.25 % chromium, 1.6 % tungsten, 0.2 % molybdenum) steel, micro-alloyed with vanadium and niobium and having controlled boron and nitrogen contents according to ASTM A 335, A 213 or to EN 10216-2 standard under the designation 7CrWVMoNb9-6. ASME SA213 T23 Tubing was introduced into the ASME Code with Code Case 2199 in 1995.

ASME SA213 T23 Alloy Steel Seamless Tube grade can be used in Boiler superheater and reheater tubes and water wall panels in complex fossil-fuelled power plants and HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generators). These SA213 T23 Alloy Steel Seamless Tubing, T23 Alloy Steel Seamless Tube, AS T23 Tubes, Alloy Steel T23 Seamless Tubing, T23 Steel Tubes, ASME SA213 AS T23 Tubes, SA213 gr T23 and SA213 grade T23 are suitable to use in high temperature such as headers and steam piping in fossil-fuelled power plants. SA213 T23 Pipe are suitable for Repair and revamping projects involving the replacement of steels such as ASTM T/P22 (EN10216-2 10CrMo9-10), T/P12 (13CrMo4-5) or 14MoV6-3.

T23 Alloy Steel Tube (SA213 T23, Chorme-Moly) is a seamless ferritic Alloy Steel Tube for high temperature service. These T23 material including Alloy Steel T23 Tube and SA213 T23 Seamless Tube are suitable for high temperature application such as bending, flanging (vanstoning), and similar forming operations, and for fusion welding in the power industry and petro-chemical plants. SA213 T23 Alloy Steel Tubing is also known as ASTM A213 T23 chrome moly tube because of the chemical makeup of Molybdenum (Mo) and Chromium (Cr). Molybdenum maintain the strength of ASME SA213 T23 square tube as well as the elastic limit, resistance to wear, impact qualities, and hardenability. Moly is the most effective single additive that enhance high temperature creep strength of ASTM A213 T23 Tubes.

Long Lengths ASME SA213 T23 Seamless Tube & High Pressure T23 Boiler Tube are available in hot rolled condition up to 22.5m. Seamless ferritic alloy steel T23 Tube can be supplied to meet special surface requirements and/or close diameter and wall thickness tolerances. SA213 T23 properties are that of a minimum Elongation Percentage of 20. The minimum Yield Strength of SA213 T23 is 400 MPa. SA213 T23 has a maximum Hardness, HB of 220. The minimum Tensile Strength of SA213 T23 is 510 MPa. The Chemical Composition of SA213 T23 is P≤ 0.03 max, C≤ 0.04 – 0.10, Si≤ 0.5 max, Mo 0.05 – 0.30, S≤ 0.01 max and Mn 0.1 – 0.6. Because of its properties, SA213 T23 is resistant to corrosion in various applications such as electric powder, chemical, oil, etc. SA213 T23 tubes can also be used in HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generators), water wall panels, boiler super-heaters, complex fossil-fuelled power plants and re-heater tubes.

Welding Sa213-T23

Welding SA213-T23 is done by the methods of Sub-Merged Arc Welding and Tungsten Inert Gas Welding. In the process of Sub-Merged Arc Welding, the diameter of the filler wire varies from between 2.0 mm to 6.3 mm. In the process of Tungsten Inert Gas Welding the filler rod used here is tungsten and argon gases like helium are used. This process can either be fully automatic or it can also be manual. In the Sub-Merged Arc Welding process, the weld pool is totally protected from contamination from the atmosphere.
