AISI 347 stainless steel equivalent is that of UNS CODE S34700, ASTM 347, KS STS 347, JIS SUS 347 and DIN 1.4550. The Modulus of Elasticity of AISI 347 stainless steel is 28.0 x 106 psi (193 GPa). The Melting Range of AISI 347 stainless steel is 1398–1446 °C (2550–2635 °F). AISI 347 stainless steel has an Electrical Resistivity of 72 Microhm-cm at 20 °C. Very good resistance to corrosion is exhibited by AISI 347 stainless steel, in fact, it is comparable with 304 stainless steel. 347 stainless steel is used in many industries like petroleum refining, chemical processing, waste heat recovery, food processing, etc.

The Elongation at Break of SS 347 is >= 30%. SS 347 has very good low temperature toughness, it has creep strength to 1500 °F and it has good resistance to oxidation. SS 347 stainless steel has been created for the purpose of getting a material that has higher strength at temperatures greater than 537 °C (1000 °F) and it was also created for enhanced creep resistance.
