Monel 400 has a Density of 8.8 g/cm3 and a Melting Point of 2460 °F (1350 °C). The Yield Strength of Monel 400 is 35,000 Psi (240 MPa) and the Tensile Strength is 80,000 Psi (550 MPa). Monel 400 has an Elongation of 40%. The Chemical Composition of Monel 400 is Cu 28.00 – 34.00, Si 0.50 max, C 0.30 max, Fe 2.50 max, Mn 2.00 max, S 0.024 max and Ni 63.00 min.

ASTM B164 specification covers nickel-copper alloys UNS N04400 and N04405 in the form of hot-worked and cold-worked rod, bar, and wire. ASTM B164 material shall conform to the chemical composition limits specified by the reference material. ASTM B164 materials for rod, bar, or wire shall conform to the mechanical properties specified by the reference material. One test per lot shall be performed for chemical analysis, tension test, hardness test, and wrapping test.
