There are many different SS sheet types and the type you would require, would be based on the application that you intend to use the stainless steel. SS sheet also contains Silicon, Carbon and Manganese in varying quantities. This layer is known as a ‘passive layer’. Because of this layer, corrosion of the surface is prevented. By increasing the amount of chromium, the resistance of the stainless steel to corrosion, is increased. Stainless steel sheet thickness varies, and because of this, it is important to use a gauge chart, so as to ensure that you get the stainless steel, as per the dimensions you require.
