SS 310S Tube is more corrosion resistant than most heat resistant alloys because of its high chromium content (25%). SS 310S Seamless Tube can be readily welded by most standard processes including TIG, PLASMA, MIG, SMAW, SAW and FCAW.
SS 310S Tubing high nickel and chromium contents impart excellent elevated temperature strength and resistance to oxidation compared to SS 304. 310 Seamless Tubing and SS 310S Seamless Tubing has a maximum dry air service temperature of 1100ºC. SS 310S Gas Tube is identical to Stainless Steel 310S boiler tubes except for a lower carbon content that minimizes carbide precipitation and improves weldability.

310 Stainless Steel Tubing Applications
310 stainless steel tubing applications are many and some of them are food processing equipment, kilns, combustion chambers and burners, radiant tubes, cryogenic structures (as it has low magnetic permeability and is tough), thermowells, retorts, fluidized bed combustors, annealing covers, muffles, lead pots, refractory anchor bolts, etc. 310 stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation as it contains 20% nickel and 25% chromium. The density of 310 stainless steel is 0.289 lb/in³ (8.00 g/cc). 310 stainless steel Rockwell B Hardness is 85. The Ultimate Tensile Strength of 310 stainless steel is 89900 psi (620 MPa). 310 stainless steel Yield Tensile Strength is 45000 psi (310 MPa).
SS 310s Tube Properties
SS 310S tube properties are that the Chemical Composition is Carbon 0.08 max, Phosphorus 0.045 max, Manganese 2.00 max, Silicon 1.50 max, Chromium 24.00 – 26.00, Nickel 19.00 – 22.00 and Sulphur 0.030 max. Comparatively, SS 310S is not so prone to sensitization and embrittlement as it is a lesser version of carbon. SS 310S fabrication can be done at temperatures ranging between 975 – 1175°C. SS 310S can be welded with filler metals and matching electrodes. SS 310S is resistant to carburization, oxidation and sulphidation.
