SA213 TP310H has carbon content and is a preferred choice for high temperature applications. Stainless Steel 310S Tubing is an austenitic stainless steel often used in sulfur bearing gas atmospheres, heat exchanger and recuperator tubing and molten salt applications. Stainless Steel 310S Seamless Tubing (UNS S31009) has a carbon content restricted to exclude the lower end of the 310 range. 310H Stainless Steel Pipe has good resistance to oxidation in intermittent service in air at temperatures up to 1040°C and 1150°C in continuous service. it is recommended that SS 310S Tube should not be continuously used at 425-860°C (797-1580°F) range due to carbide precipitation.

310H stainless steel tubing applications are many and they include applications and industries such as oven linings, feeding and discharging systems, burner parts, catalytic recovery systems, coal combustors, containers for sulfur dioxide, ammonia and hot concentrated acids, retort linings, conveyor belts, coal gasifier internals, tube hangers, baskets, refractory supports, trays, fans, smelter and steel melting equipment, etc. The Creep Strength of 310H stainless steel is 20.0 MPa (2900 psi). 310H stainless steel has a Poissons Ratio of 0.30. The Magnetic Permeability of 310H stainless steel is 1.02. The Linear CTE of 310H stainless steel is 15.9 µm/m-°C (8.83 µin/in-°F).

The Shear Modulus of 310H stainless steel is 77.0 GPa (11200 ksi). 310H stainless steel has a Specific Heat Capacity of 0.120 BTU/lb-°F (0.502 J/g-°C). 310H stainless steel has superb resistance to oxidation. In mildly cyclic conditions, 310H stainless steel can resist oxidation up to 1100 °C (2010 °F). 310H stainless steel has excellent creep deformation resistance. Because it has carbon content, 310H stainless steel is used in high temperature applications.
