Duplex Pipe Material Grade
Duplex pipe material grade are many, such as Duplex 2205, Duplex- 1.4462, Super Duplex stainless like S32750, etc. Duplex stainless steels are roughly twice as strong as ferritic or austenitic stainless steels. Duplex stainless steels have been so named as they consist of a microstructure that is of a two-phase and this is of grains of austenitic stainless steel and ferritic steel too. Duplex stainless steels display superb resistance to stress corrosion cracking, a property that they have got from ferritic stainless steels. The basic idea behind the production of duplex stainless steel, was to create a chemical composition that was approximately very similar to austenite stainless steel and ferrite stainless steel.
Duplex Pipe Weight
The duplex pipe weight can be calculated by using an online pipe weight calculator. Duplex stainless steels are more ductile and tougher than ferritic stainless steel grades. Lower molybdenum and nickel is present in duplex stainless steels, as compared to austenitic stainless steel counterparts, which have the same kind of resistance to corrosion. As compared with austenitic stainless steel, the duplex stainless steel section thickness can be reduced, because of the increased yield strength of duplex stainless steels. In thick sections, duplex stainless steels offer good weldability. Duplex stainless steels have superb toughness.
